Cameroonian Maid Attempts Suicide

A Cameroonian domestic worker, who works for a Kuwaiti man on temporary basis, has been admitted to the Jahra Hospital, after she attempted to end her life by drinking a large quantity of laundry detergent inside her sponsor’s house in Saad Al-Abdullah area, reports Al-Rai daily. The daily quoting security sources the medical staff succeeded in rescuing her after giving her stomach wash.

The Kuwaiti, during interrogation said he had to hire the helping hand due to shortage of domestic workers caused by delay in the recruitment of domestic workers. The security source added, two cases have been registered against her – attempt to commit suicide and violating the residence law. The daily added, a case has also been registered against her sponsor, for letting loose his domestic worker.
