Cabinet Considering Removing Institutional Quarantine For Those Vaccinated
The council of ministers is considering cancelling institutional quarantine for immunized travelers after a broad wave of parliamentary discontent. Arabic daily Al Qabas reported that the Cabinet will study a proposal during its next session to either cancel or reduce the institutional quarantine for travellers who received two does of the vaccine.
Parliamentarians have demanded the necessity of easing travel restrictions, exempting those vaccinated from institutional quarantine, approving the “Corona passport” and granting facilities and benefits to citizens who completed the “preventive course.”
Moreover, while neighboring countries exempt vaccinated travelers from institutional quarantine, Kuwait was long overdue in this step, without justification, Al Qabas reported. While the number of those who took the vaccine in Kuwait has risen to 462,000, the institutional quarantine of the vaccinators has become ineffective.
The paper reported that government agencies actions were exaggerated, with regard to closing activities, restricting travel, and forcing vaccinated citizens into institutional quarantine.
The Kuwait travel app mosafer has also added the vaccination certificate option as a preliminary step in preparation of any decision being taken.
