Bangladesh Embassy Observed Shahid Dibash And International Mother Language Day 2018
Embassy of Bangladesh in the State of Kuwait observed Shahid Dibash & International Mother Language Day 2018 at the Chancery in a befitting manner in presence of embassy officials, officials of the Bangladesh Military Contingent, officials of Biman Bangladesh Airlines and members of Bangladesh community and representatives of the print and electronic media.
On Wednesday, Feb 21, 2018 Charge d’Affaires, a.i. of this embassy hoisted the National Flag at half mast ceremoniously in the presence of embassy officials and a huge number of members of the community, Md Anisuzzaman, Counsellor (Political) and HOC anchored the whole program. The programme started with the recitation from the Holy Quran. Special Dua and Munajat were offered seeking divine blessings for the Language martyrs’ and for the continued progress of the country. The message given by the Honorable President, the Honorable Prime Minister, the Honorable Foreign Minister and State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh were read out by officers of the embassy.
The discussion took place in a very lively atmosphere as a good number of participants from the community took part in the discussion. They highlighted various important events that took place before and after the language movement. Charge d’Affaires, Abdul Latif Khan in his speech highlighted the language movement its significance in the buildup of the subsequent mass movement that led by the emergence of independent Bangladesh.
Khan also recalled with great reverence the greatest Bengali of all times, the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. He informed that after independence, Bangabandhu made Bangla as the Stage Language and also delivered his maiden speech in Bangla at the 29th session of the United General Assembly on Sept 25, 1974 to introduce Bangla anew to the world. He urged all Bangladesh nationals in Kuwait to abide by the rules and regulations of the State of Kuwait, He further thanked the government and people of the State of Kuwait for their continuous supports for the Bangladeshi expatriates in Kuwait. Finally refreshments were areranged for all the guests
