Awqaf Forbids Qiyam Prayers In 6 Densely Populated Areas

The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs issued a circular to announce that the Qiyam prayers would not be organized in the following densely populated areas- Hawalli, Al-Nugra, Maidan Hawalli, Salmiya, Jaleeb al-Shuyukh, and Mahboula, Al-Rai reported.

The administrative circular issued by the Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Awqaf directed the mosques to organize the qiyaam prayer in the mosques during the last ten days of the Ramadan, with adherence to the health requirements, It was decided that:

Men would be allowed to perform qiyaam prayer in mosques within 30 minutes while adhering to the health requirements currently in force in mosques.
It is not allowed to hold Qiyaam prayers in the following high-density areas: (Hawalli – Al-Nugra – Maidan Hawalli – Salmiya – Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh – Mahboula)
The qiyaam prayer begins after midnight.
The qiyaam prayer would be organized in all the mosques in which Tarawih prayers are held, except for the mosques in the areas mentioned above.
Taraweeh prayers would be held in mosques for men immediately after the evening prayer for 15 minutes only.
Mosques to close after every prayer, prohibiting i’tikaaf, lectures, lessons, and other activities.
Only men are allowed to pray in mosques.
Commitment to wearing masks, the use of personal rugs, and physical separation between worshipers.
Continuing to prohibit the establishment of breaking the fast and suhoor tables in mosques.
Urging those who have not received the Coronavirus vaccine to perform prayers at home.
We recommend that the elderly, people with chronic diseases, and immunocompromised people perform the Qiyaam prayers in their homes.
Maintaining general cleanliness inside the mosque, ventilation, periodic cleaning, and cleaning frequently touched surfaces after each prayer.
