Appeals Court To Hear Case Of Twitter User

The Court of Appeals will today review the case filed against the Twitter user Hamid Boyabes who was accused of offending the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia based on a number of Twitter posts he wrote against the Saudi Minister of Interior, after the prosecution appealed the acquittal ruling.

The Public Prosecution had charged Boyabes with carrying out a hostile act against Saudi Arabia in a manner that would harm the relations between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia, in light of Boyabes posting tweets concerning the smuggling of subsidized food supplies into Saudi Arabia and the responsibility of the Saudi Ministry of Interior.
