Analysis Done On ‘national Labor Ratios’
According to informed sources at the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM), the authority has prepared a study on amending the ratios of national labor in non-governmental organizations. As explained by the government agencies involved in upgrading their classification, the sectors concerned with determining ratios are waiting for the Ministry of Commerce and Industry to update the National Classification for Economic Activities currently in force, ISIC2 to ISIC4.
According to the International Standard Industrial Classification issued by the Economic and Social Council at the United Nations, "ISIC4" is a guide that unifies the description of economic activities for each sector of the economy.
Accordingly, the study will be submitted with the proposed ratios to amend a decision attributing national employment to the private sector to a new proposal after submitting it to the Economic Committee of the Council of Ministers for study.
The amendment to the decision is intended to encourage companies to adhere to the percentages included in the employment of national labor. This creates hundreds of jobs for citizens wishing to work in the private sector, and relieves government pressure. Furthermore, PAM seeks to reevaluate the percentage of national employment assigned to non-governmental institutions in accordance with international standards.
This amendment effectively addresses the phenomenon of fake employment in the private sector, especially after companies and business owners in the sector identify their activities. In chapters three and five, the total number of workers registered ranges between 65,000 and 68,000, with annual earnings exceeding KD 600 million.
