Amir's False Health Reports Will Lead To Legal Action

In a statement Saturday, the Public Prosecution said it would take firm legal action against any individual, group, platform, or media outlet publishing false information about His Highness the Amir's health or the Ruling House's arrangements. It stated that it carefully followed; and with grave concern; what has been reported by media and some individuals on all types of networks and outlets about His Highness's health and arrangements. It noted that any measures taken would be in accordance with Article 167 of the Constitution.

AfiAl-Subaie, Assistant Undersecretary for Press, Publishing, and Publications Affairs at the Ministry of Information, has emphasized the need for media platforms to verify news and information before publication.

Al-Subaie revealed that media outlets are prohibited from publishing, broadcasting, rebroadcasting, sending, or transmitting any content that violates Kuwaiti media laws. He warned that anyone who broadcasts rumors will be dealt with by the law. It is the ministry's duty to follow up and monitor incorrect news, he said. He said media outlets have been referred to the Public Prosecution for spreading rumors and the necessary measures have been taken against them. In order to avoid problems, he urged everyone to only obtain information from official sources.
