Al-Ujairi : A Winter Ramadan Is Expected For The Next 9 Years
The Al-Ujairi Scientific Center has revealed that the Crescent for the upcoming month of Ramadan will not be visible in Kuwait's skies. This announcement indicates that Ramadan this year will bring a spring atmosphere, coinciding with the winter season for the next nine years.
Astronomical calculations project that Ramadan next year will fall in the winter season and will continue to coincide with the days of Al-Murabbaniyya for four more years, starting from 2028. During this period, the weather is expected to be moderate and cold until 2034, as reported by Al-Qabas daily.
Commencing Ramadan during the winter season brings about unique seasonal characteristics, such as longer night hours compared to daylight hours. This results in shorter fasting periods, contrasting with the longer fasting hours typically experienced during the summer months.
The year 1445 AH – 2024 AD will mark the last Ramadan in the spring season, with a return to this season after 27 years.
In terms of sighting the crescent of Ramadan in Kuwait this year, the center has confirmed its impossibility according to Al-Ajiri’s specific criterion, which considers factors like the crescent’s stay in the sky, its height, and declination.
This year, fasting hours are expected to be 13 hours and 10 minutes, with the dawn call to prayer precisely at 4:44 AM, decreasing by one minute each day. The Maghrib call to prayer will be at 5:05 PM.
