Al-roudhan Discusses Issues Of Common Interest With Pakistan’s Pm
Minister of Commerce and Industry of the State of Kuwait, Khaled Al- Roudhan on Friday met in Islamabad with Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan and discussed with him various issues of mutual interests. After the session, the Kuwaiti minister told KUNA “The meeting went very well and we discussed number of issues of mutual interest. We discussed all the areas where we should cooperate and enhance cooperation.”
Al-Roudhan pointed out that there was a lot of room for improvement and advancement in the relationship between the two countries and Kuwait has taken a step forward by coming to Pakistan for the fourth Session of Pakistan-Kuwait Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC).
Kuwaiti Minister of Commerce and Industry led a 22-member Kuwaiti delegation in the session. During the session, the two countries discussed cooperation in various areas. Meanwhile, the fourth Session of Pakistan-Kuwait Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) concluded in Islamabad on Friday with the signing of several agreements.
Kuwait Minister of Commerce and Industry Khaled Al-Roudhan and Pakistani Finance Minister Asad Umar co-chaired the JMC meeting. During the delegation level meeting, the two countries agreed to review implementation status of the decisions of third session held in 2011.
Both countries agreed to cooperate on facilitating visa procedures, trade and investment, as well as bolstering coordination on the security, maritime and aviation domains. Cooperation in the petroleum and industrial sectors, in education and media, in health, science and technology as well as agriculture were also discussed.
In a statement to KUNA after the signing ceremony, Pakistani Finance Minister said that the session between the two delegations was very constructive. “We are happy that the JMC session has commenced after seven years … Pakistan and Kuwait are brotherly countries and we have to make sure that the economic relations between them refl ect the cemented ties,” he added.
He praised the Kuwaiti minister for his vision towards development and trade and ensured that a Pakistani delegation, comprising of businessmen, will soon visit Kuwait to explore investment avenues. During the session, the Pakistani minister invited Kuwaiti businessmen to invest in Pakistan including farmland, milk and food processing plants.
He said Kuwaiti businessmen may export agricultural commodities of desired quality to their country and other countries. He said the investors from Arab countries might also take benefit of attractive investment opportunities in special economic zones of Pakistan in areas like automotive, food processing and textile as well as in oil and gas exploration.
