In an interview with PTI, Vinay Dube, Founder and CEO of India's Akasa Air, revealed plans to extend its overseas services following the successful launch of flights to Doha this month. The airline aims to commence operations to Kuwait, Riyadh, and Jeddah by the end of October 2024.

With a fleet comprising 24 Boeing 737 Max aircraft, Akasa Air is set to inaugurate its international flights on March 28 with a route connecting Mumbai and Doha, operating four times a week.

Dube expressed confidence in obtaining traffic rights for the upcoming routes, emphasizing the airline's commitment to launching services to these destinations by the conclusion of the IATA summer season. However, he noted that the initiation of international operations is contingent upon receiving approvals from the respective foreign governments.
