Acting Prime Minister Reaffirms Firm Action Against Reckless Drivers
The acting Prime Minister, Minister of Interior Sheikh Talal Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, emphasized on Wednesday the need to deal firmly and swiftly with reckless drivers and traffic congestion to ensure everyone's safety.
Sheikh Talal led a security meeting with Undersecretary of the Ministry, Lieutenant General Anwar Al-Barjas, to follow up on the Ministry's readiness to handle traffic congestion during school hours, according to a statement released by the Ministry's Public Relations and Media Security.
To reduce traffic congestion and eliminate illegal parking in front of schools, Sheikh Talal stressed the importance of police presence on all roads and intersections leading up to schools in residential areas.
A security and traffic awareness campaign was also ordered to provide parents and drivers with all the necessary information needed to prevent motorists' bad behaviors that could endanger others on the road.
