Acquittal In Smuggling Of 40,000 Bullets To Saudi Arabia

06 December 2021 Crime News

The Court of Cassation has closed the curtain on the case related to the attempt to smuggle more than 40,000 bullets and sell them in Saudi Arabia. The court said the appellate court’s ruling rejected the defense’s request regarding the invalidity of the investigations, as it does not harm justice as much as the impunity of a criminal is harmed by the infringements on freedoms and abuses and their unlawful arrest.

The defendants’ defense counsel Lawyer Muhammad Khureibit said in a statement that the final ruling, which acquitted the defendants and overturned their imprisonment, came in accordance with the correct law. He said, “The Court of Cassation took our defense based on the fact that the investigations, on the basis of which the search warrant was issued, did not contain a known name for the person to whom the seizures belong. The papers were devoid of any other evidence to convict the accused”.
