A Road Map For Reopening Mosques In Kuwait

19 May 2020 Kuwait

Mosques have a great place in linking the Muslim to his Lord, documenting and strengthening his spiritual relationship with him, and with the discovery of the perpetuation of the “Corona” crisis, which caused the closure of mosques in front of worshipers, many countries began to put controls to reopen mosques again before worshipers. In Kuwait, the government announced that it hoped to gradually return to normal life with social divergence controls by the end of this month.

There is no doubt that the return of mosques as they were before the crisis of Corona and opening its doors is one of the most important decisions demanded by everyone, when you resume “semi-normal” life, but there are several mechanisms and controls and health and preventive precautions required that must be adhered to, and will be adopted by the Ministry Endowments, in coordination with the Ministry of Health, to receive worshipers, so that the homes of God do not become a focus for the spread of infection. And with government sources asserting that the return of mosques is among the priorities of the Council of Ministers, which will be put forward before the return to life, the health and preventive precautions and social divergence are among the conditions that the authorities will depend on for health before making this decision.

Certainly, the process of opening mosques will be preceded by media campaigns that call on citizens not to shake hands and peace in mosques, and to commit to wearing masks, using sterilizers, and the necessity to go home immediately after the prayer has ended. Several instructions will be issued to imams and muezzins, according to sources, the most important of which is not to prolong and shorten the Friday sermon and reduce the time of stay, in addition to preventing lessons and preaching after prayer and educating worshipers about the need for social separation during prayer.

Heat check There is a tendency to put external apparatus for checking the temperature of the worshipers, with sterilization and constant disinfection of mosques and their facilities, providing sterilizers, and obligating the worshipers to wear the masks before entering, and opening the bathrooms to perform ablution will be delayed for another notification, and children will be prevented to be accompanied, in order to preserve their health. The coolers spread out in all mosques will be canceled and replaced with bottled water to avoid any infection. The question of the distance between the worshipers, which is estimated by one or two meters, remains in need of a fatwa from the Fatwa Committee, which will express its opinion on this by taking the opinion of the health authorities before opening the mosques. It is vital to stress the employment of mosques with the necessity to follow all health instructions and strictly punish those who do not commit to cancel their contract immediately, in order to preserve the health of all
