A Man Travelling From Gulf Caught Carrying 9 Kg Of Gold Worth Rs 4.62 Crore

Mumbai Customs officials thwarted a smuggling attempt at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, arresting a man arriving from a Gulf country and seizing gold worth Rs 4.62 crore.

The man was intercepted on Saturday while allegedly attempting to smuggle 24-carat gold bars weighing approximately 9,000 grams. Investigations are ongoing in the case.

In a separate incident last month, three foreign nationals were arrested at Mumbai airport for allegedly smuggling gold worth Rs 1.40 crore. Arriving from Addis Ababa, the accused had hidden the gold in their undergarments and shoe soles.
