A Kuwaiti Was Arrested For Drug Trafficking With 3.5 Kgms Of Hashish

A Kuwaiti was arrested for drug trafficking with 3.5 kgms of hashish, cocaine, some chemical substances and materials used for manufacturing hashish in his possession, reports Al-Seyassah daily. Acting on information that the suspect receives drugs from other countries through air cargo companies, the Drug Control General Department put him under surveillance which revealed his modus operandi — the contraband is hidden in postal parcels. He was arrested after the officers obtained a warrant.

During interrogation, the suspect admitted to selling drugs so he was referred to the relevant security unit along with the confiscated items. Meanwhile, police have arrested an unidentified bedoun for trafficking in drugs and narcotic pills, reports Al-Rai daily.

The daily added the suspect was arrested in the Jahra Industrial Area after he made a desperate attempt to escape from the law. The daily quoting security sources said police saw the suspect seated in a car in a suspicious manner near the Jahra Industrial Area late at night.

When he was asked what he was doing there at a late, hour, the man fumbled for an answer and to the contrary tried in vain to escape. As he ran for his life, he threw something in the garbage bin and continued running. Police wrestled him to the ground and picked up what was dumped in the garbage bin — KD 1,500, proceeds from sale of drugs, one kilo of shabu, pieces of hashish and 122 narcotic pills. The contraband and the suspect have been referred to the General Department for Drugs Control.
