A Basket Of Kuwaiti Shrimp Costs 65 Dinars
Following approval of fishing in industrial and regional waters, the first batch of Kuwaiti shrimp was harvested and delivered to Sharq's fish market. A basket of shrimp sold for 65 dinars on average after the move.
According to Al-Jarida fishermen, the shrimp captured on the first day after the ban was lifted did not exceed 94 baskets, which is less than the seasonal catch.
There were fewer shrimps auctioned on the first day due to a lack of incentives and limited labor in the fishing industry. Furthermore, they noted that despite increased fishing activity in the coming days, the catch is less likely to match last year's.
