30 Violations Committed By 11 Charitable Organizations Out Of The Total 22 Charitable Organizations
Director of Charitable Organizations and Donor Associations at Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor Munira Al-Kandari disclosed that the department has referred the final report concerning charitable activities during Ramadan to the concerned official in the ministry. She revealed that the report highlighted the work carried out by the follow-up and inspection teams, adding that the total amount collected as donations is KD 40 million.
Al-Kandari explained that the teams launched 397 inspections, recorded 30 violations committed by 11 charitable organizations out of the total 22 charitable organizations licensed to carry out the project. Most of the recorded violations are minor except for two related to suspicions of fake cards.
;These two violations were referred to the Public Prosecution so that necessary legal actions can be taken. The report also indicated about 15 violations concerning booths for collecting used clothes, 14 violations by individuals, six violations by volunteering teams, and five by charitable bodies and private educational institutes.
Al-Kandari indicated that the rate of violations is 23 percent. She stressed the keenness of the ministry to monitor and follow- up charitable activities and to apply the relevant laws precisely with the cooperation of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Central Bank of Kuwait.
