263 Expats Arrested In Surprise Crackdowns
Recent surprise crackdowns resulted in the arrest of 263 expats for violating the Residency and Work Law. The main road to the Al-Mutlaa region was found to have 103 expats selling construction materials without authorization in undesignated areas. In a joint effort involving the tripartite committee, the workforce, and Kuwait Municipality, the General Administration of Residency Affairs Investigations discovered this unlawful activity during surprise inspections.
Their arrests led to violations being issued by the workforce against the offending workers, and Kuwait Municipality took action to remove encroachments and unapproved building materials. Further, 160 individuals were successfully apprehended by the Joint Tripartite Committee and the Department of Research and Investigation in the regions of Farwaniya, Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh, and Amghara. Legal measures are currently underway to address these infractions.
