225 People Died In Traffic Accidents This Year
Al-Qabas daily reports that 225 Kuwaitis and residents died in about 40,000 traffic accidents between January and mid-September, while more than 4,500 others were injured.
The sources added that the GTD recorded about 3.5 million traffic violations during that period, which led to the deportation of 120 expatriates, most of whom were caught driving without licenses, and some of whom had committed several serious violations that endangered both their own lives and the lives of others.
The same sources pointed out that there were more than 35,000 collision accidents, about 230 overturning accidents, 450 run-over accidents, and 140 hit-and-run accidents.
The sources pointed out that rescue and traffic personnel were able to arrest dozens of reckless people, during their dealings with thousands of reports received about reckless acts in open areas, internal and secondary roads and some main roads.
