In one of the most serious cases, an unidentified 21- year old Kuwaiti is said to have managed to acquire a forged certificate from an unnamed Arab country which shows that he is a qualified pharmacist, reports Al-Rai daily.
The daily said, if you are not ashamed or not afraid, it makes no difference to anyone because you can do what you want, but certainly such type of corruption must be eradicated from society by all means.
The daily said what is surprising is that the certificate was presented to government agencies and it was approved without anyone asking a question how a person who is just 21 years old holds a doctorate certificate.
The daily went on to say even if he is a genius he should be still be in the university preparing for his graduation. The sources revealed that the arrest came in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior saying the operations of the suspect were not limited to pharmacy.
According to investigations, ‘fake’ doctor bribed officials to get his transactions cleared. The Public Prosecution has ordered his detention as the security officers continue to investigate the case to find out who assisted him in getting his transactions approved. The sources pointed out, the suspect was also prescribing medicines at other times and was involved in other cases also.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health says it spares no effort to pursue counterfeiters and follow up any issue that affects the health of the residents and Kuwaitis.
The source stressed the ministry will continue to pursue violators of the law, in order to protect the health sector from suspicious people. In other news, the Minister of Health Sheikh Dr Bassel Al-Sabah has issued a ministerial decision stipulating the requirements for those who occupy higher positions such as that the head of a unit in any medical department. The Minister said the appointee must hold a doctorate degree or its equivalent.
The decision specifies the mechanism of selecting the head of the unit in the hospital whose name should be presented to the board of directors of the hospital and must win two-third votes of the technical departments.
