10 Iranians Arrested For Entering Kuwait Illegally
Ten Iranian citizens were arrested on Saturday for entering Kuwait illegally by sea, Al Rai reported.
A Kuwaiti citizen was said to have seen the men getting off of a cruiser in the Mina Abdullah area, South of Kuwait, and reported the men to the authorities.
Some were said to be hiding in garbage cans and in neighboring chalets so that they would not be caught.
The authorities told Al Rai that they found drugs in the luggage of the intruders, but did not find weapons of any kind.
Cruise ship
A security source said that they first arrested nine people that entered Kuwait’s shores illegally, but then the 10th person arrested was the cruise ship captain that carried the men from Iran to Kuwait.
The men admitted to paying 150,000 Iranian rials (1 Kuwaiti dinar) to the cruise ship captain in exchange for their delivery to Kuwait from Iran.
Following their capture, the 10 men have been referred to the respected authorities for investigation and legal measures will be taken against them.
