1 Year Jail Or Kd 50,000 Fine For Illegal Hajj Caravans
Assistant Undersecretary for Media and Foreign Relations at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Mohammad Al- Mutairi has warned unauthorized Hajj caravans against any attempt to operate illegally, saying the ministry will coordinate with the Ministry of Interior to apply severe punishment of one year jail term or Kd 50,000 fine against violators. Al-Mutairi, who doubles as the Vice Chairman of Kuwait Hajj Mission, disclosed that he visited the offices of Hajj caravans to ensure close interaction with the operators.
He said the ministry and the caravans are committed to ensuring hitch free pilgrimage for pilgrims, while it is important to maintain the quota given to Kuwait among other Islamic nations across the world. He indicated the current achievement was made possible through the ministry’s strategy to always partner with others for the interest of pilgrims.
He reiterated that Hajj law of 2015 must be applied without laxity under any circumstance. He declared the ongoing tour of the offices is just the beginning, adding that it will be complemented with similar regular inspection of their locations in Makkah before and during the pilgrimage rites.
