Winter Season Witnessed An Increased Temperature This Year
Al-Ajairi Scientific Center said that the current winter season witnessed an increase in temperatures compared to the annual average winter temperature.
the center said that the current winter season observed the percentage of cold was lower than usual, indicating that the average temperatures for the Al-Murabbaniyah season in the period between December 7, 2023 and January 14, 2024 this year are the highest compared to the temperatures recorded in the same period for the past six years.
The temperature recorded in the Murabbaniyah season this year was 17.16 degrees Celsius, while it ranged between 14.81 degrees and 15.39 degrees Celsius during the past six years, an increase estimated at about 1.77 degrees Celsius.
The center attributed the rise in temperatures to the climate changes that the world is witnessing, and the El Niño phenomenon, which is considered a natural event linked to rising temperatures in the Pacific Ocean, and thus affects temperatures all over the world.
