Total Number Of Violations Recorded In The Past Few Days Reached 37,636
The General Traffic Department conducted traffic campaigns in the six governorates in compliance with the directive of Assistant Undersecretary for Traffic Affairs in the Interior Ministry Major General Abdallah Yousef Al-Muhanna.
In a press statement, the ministry confirmed the traffic campaigns were in line with the department’s strategy to maintain road safety, guarantee strict compliance with traffic regulations, and apply the law on all those proven to have violated the regulations.
The total number of violations recorded in the past few days reached 37,636 — 9,569 for using mobile phones by hand while driving, 20,110 failure to use the seat belt and 7,957 for parking in areas designated for the handicapped.
The department called on all the road users to strictly follow traffic regulations for their own safety and that of other motorists. It also reaffirmed its plan to continue carrying out traffic campaigns in a bid to curb the negative behavior of some people on the roads.
