The Health Department Recorded 1,646 Violations

During the past year, the Ministry of Health said 1,646 violations were registered for selling unregistered medicines and cosmetics by private medical centers and clinics. Al-Qabas reports that some of the materials had expired as well. As reported by the daily citing sources at the Ministry of Health, the Drug Inspection Department of the ministry issued penalty letters for 1,256 violations committed by private pharmacies, 104 violations committed by private medical centers and clinics, 25 violations registered by food supplement stores, 81 violations registered by veterinary drug stores, 51 violations against medical companies and their warehouses, and 29 violations against perfume shops.

Some practitioners in these clinics didn't hold licenses issued by the Ministry of Health to practice their profession and were not specialists, the sources said. Sources said inspections are conducted by other government agencies in coordination with these clinics to control violation, and legal action has been taken against violators of this rule.
