Ten Properties In Failaka Have Lost Power

20 March 2022 Kuwait

The Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy's judicial police team conducted a surprise inspection campaign on Failaka Island in collaboration with the Hawalli Governorate's power distribution networks and the Ministry of Interior's public security sector to ensure that power connections and electricity meters were not tampered with.

According to the team leader, Adnan Dashti, the effort resulted in the power supply being switched off to ten properties that had taken advantage of the power supply by connecting directly to the main lines, according to a local Arabic newspaper.

Dashti stated that power was cut off from ten properties, which the Ministry of Finance has already assessed, and that the team will continue to work to ensure that the electricity and water networks in all areas of Kuwait are not tampered with, as well as take the necessary measures against those who abuse the ministry's services.
