Smart Meters Tender Opens Soon

Minister of Electricity and Water Dr Khalid Al-Fadhel is expected to look into many pending files, whether technical or administrative, which are awaiting for decision, reports Al- Anba daily.

Among the most prominent of these files are the smart meters, whose tenders were about to be fl oated after a number of observations made by the State Audit Bureau.

The tenders are expected to be fl oated in the beginning of 2019. One of the main issues that will be followed up is the privatization of the ministry and its transformation into a public authority according to a study that has been prepared and waits for the approval of the National Assembly.

The problems and obstacles that impede the implementation of the Nuweibet plant include its location is among the issues that wait for a decision to be taken by Al-Fadhel.

Al-Fadhel also will decide to end the services of the out of service plants in addition to issues like rationalization of electricity and water and collecting the deserved money for the ministry.
