Severe Punishment For All Involved In Police Attack
Maximum punishment will be given to all those who assaulted securitymen during a wedding party along Al-Ghous Street.
In a press statement, the Public Relations and Security Media Department at the Interior Ministry stressed the law will be strictly enforced on everyone involved in the case, considering that respect for securitymen should be innate in every individual especially since the officers were merely performing their duties to ensure the security and stability of Kuwait.
The department affirmed that the ministry will take the necessary measures to protect securitymen in the line of duty. According to the department, four suspects have been arrested so far and all those who attended the event will be summoned for investigation.
It went on to say a team of officers called for backup after noticing the untoward behavior of some of the guests at the wedding party as they drove recklessly towards the venue. One of the officers was injured when he tried to control the revelers. Eye witnesses disclosed more than 200 persons gathered on the road and four of them beat some officers when the latter tried to stop their reckless acts which caused traffic congestion.
