Senior Citizens And Convicts Can Access An Electronic Platform
The Interior and Defense Committee has referred a package of proposals to the National Assembly for approval, including the creation of an electronic platform to assist those sentenced to prison in non-criminal financial cases, whose work will be overseen by the Ministry of Interior in collaboration with other ministries and authorities.
The plan intends to simplify the contribution process by ensuring that the money collected goes directly to the beneficiary within jails, allowing for rapid release without the need for a documentary cycle. According to the sources, time may be saved by building an integrated computerized platform to assist persons convicted in non-criminal debt cases inside Kuwait in getting money to pay for their release while also assuring complete security.
The committee also authorized a proposal by the Ministry of Interior to provide mobile automobiles for the elderly to conduct transactions and services and provide them with various forms of comfort.
Government staff will be trained to service this group of residents aged 65 and up in these vehicles.
It also authorized a proposal to create a specialist medical department associated with the General Department of Prisons, which would be equipped with the newest devices and staffed by expert medical personnel to treat drug-abusing prisoners while they were imprisoned.
