Probe Ordered In Mosque Roof Collapse

The Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Minister of State for Municipal Affairs Fahd Al-Shoula has ordered an investigation into the collapse of the roof of a mosque under construction in Nahda which resulted in the death of three Egyptian workers and the injury to two others of the same nationality, reports Al-Rai daily.

The daily added, the incident happened when the concrete was being poured on the roof. The minister stressed the need to submit a detailed report on the incident and reveal the reasons to take necessary legal action against those found responsible for the incident. On the other hand, the Al-Qabas daily said, the Egyptian Minister for Manpower, Mohamed Saafan issued an immediate instruction to the ministry’s labor office at the Egyptian consulate in Kuwait to follow up on the death of 3 Egyptians and injury to two others following the collapse of the under construction mosque in Al-Nahda.

Saafan said in a statement the compensation and dues of the three workers will be followed up as well as follow-up on the condition of the injured and in cooperation with the consulate finalize the procedures for repatriating the remains of the three men to Egypt.
