Power Consumption Is Expected To Rise This Summer, And Mew Says It Is Prepared To Handle The Demand

Increasing temperatures yesterday led to the highest electrical load index of the summer, which measured 48 degrees Celsius.

According to Al-Rai daily, the increase in the load index was accompanied by an increase in water consumption, which reached 489 million imperial gallons, a difference of less than 11 million gallons from the production rate of half a billion.

Despite the high consumption of electricity and water during the current period, the ministry's production capacity is adequate to meet the country's energy and water needs, according to informed sources from the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy. Electrical appliances that consume too much power should not be operated, according to the ministry's sources.

The ministry expects the consumption rates for the remainder of the summer season to remain high, due to high temperatures, but the travel season is expected to reduce some of the loads.
