Police In Ras Al Khaimah Recorded 67 Traffic Accidents In A Day
The police in RasAl Khaimah have recorded 67 traffic accidents during a day of showers across the emirate on Friday.
Brigadier Ghanem Ahmad Ghanem, Director General of the Ras Al Khaimah Police Central Operations Room, said most rain-related accidents were minor.
But the official urged the public to contact the Police operation room on 999 or call 998 only in emergency cases.
While Brig. Ghanem warned beach-goers to avoid swimming in unstable weather to avoid any tragic accidents, he also urged the public to avoid driving into valleys, which may be hit by flashfloods.
He urged motorists to be extra cautious, adhere to stated speed limits, avoid overtaking and observe a safe distance between vehicles in unstable weather or low visibility.
Dubai police, meanwhile, also urged motorists to drive with greater caution and reduce speed during heavy rain.
