Operational Airport Services To Be Developed With 2.6 Million Dinars
To sign a contract for advisory services and technical and operational support with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) for a period of five years, the Directorate-General of Civil Aviation has allocated 2.6 million dinars.
Several sources informed a local Arabic daily that the DGCA had discussed directly contracting with ICAO with supervisory authorities and that the Central Agency for Central Tenders agreed after listening to testimony from specialists and that the procedures for the documentation session were being done in collaboration with the other supervisory authorities.
Sources said the contract request originated from the "ICAO" within the United Nations system, which is responsible for issues related to civil aviation and international air transport, and has played an important role in helping countries to cooperate and achieve a network of air transport that is safe and secure.
As a result of the new T2 terminal, the joint strategy will be put in place for the development of operational and technical services to serve the air transportation market, as well as the infrastructure development of Kuwait International Airport.
As indicated by the sources, the DGCA is intent on making the new airport a regional air hub and on providing the highest standards of efficiency through high-quality services that ensure passenger comfort.
Among the other concerns outlined by the administration was the introduction of a project aimed at implementing an advanced surface guidance and control system and a system for detecting small objects on runways.
