No Pardon In ‘immorality’

The Court of Cassation recently established an important principle that applies to all cases of inciting others to engage in immoral act as it confirmed that there is no conciliation, waiver or amnesty for such cases. The court made this step through its final ruling on a harassment and blackmailing case. In its decision to impose three-year imprisonment sentence on a person accused of inciting immorality, the court explained that “even if the victim decides to relinquish the right to file a case, conciliation and pardon is not permissible in such crimes. The victim’s waiver or pardon has no effect.”
