Narcotics Smuggling Foiled By Kuwait Coast Guard; 6 Arrested
The General Administration of the Coast Guard intercepted two separate attempts to smuggle narcotics and psychotropic substances into the country by sea. These efforts are part of the Ministry of the Interior’s ongoing campaign to combat drug trafficking and control the smuggling of harmful substances.
In collaboration with the General Administration for Narcotics Control, the Coast Guard successfully thwarted the efforts of six individuals involved in attempting to transport a significant quantity of narcotics and psychotropic pills into the country through maritime routes.
During routine monitoring of the maritime borders, Coast Guard personnel identified two boats within Kuwaiti territorial waters using advanced radar systems. Upon interception, it was discovered that the vessels were carrying six individuals and a substantial amount of illegal substances. Specifically, the seized items included approximately 26,000 pills of psychotropic substances, 20 kilograms of crystal meth, and 158 pieces of hashish.
The individuals involved, along with the confiscated substances, have been detained and are being referred to the appropriate authorities to face legal action by the law. These actions reflect the government’s commitment to combatting drug trafficking and protecting the safety and security of the nation’s borders.
