Mother Of A Secondary School Student Is Fighting To Save The Future Of Her Daughter
Mother of a secondary school student is fighting to save the future of her daughter because after she got involved in a lengthy argument with the school administration where her daughter studies, the latter has been barred from entering the classroom or appearing for the exam, reports Al-Rai daily.
This happened when the school administration apparently tore her school uniform to lengthen it to cover her knees. The mother of the student told the daily, she was shocked to see her daughter’s uniform torn, which she says the school administration may accept, but she certainly does not accept what happened to her daughter.
She says, the school should have notified her on the matter. She also said the dress is normal and there is nothing wrong with it. “I do not think there is a law that forces students to wear the hijab or the long uniform. Since last Thursday my daughter is prevented from entering the school,” she added.
The mother has appealed to the Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education Dr. Hamid Al-Azmi, his Undersecretary, Dr Saud Al-Harbi and Undersecretary for Public Education, Osama Al-Sultan, to intervene immediately to stop what she calls absurdity and improper personal behavior with her daughter. She also says something will be done urgently to help her move her daughter to another school to protect her future.
For her part, the Director of Educational Affairs in the Capital Educational Area, Shukriya Al-Saidi told Al-Rai that “the school’s behavior (if the mother’s story is true) is totally rejected and her mother must file a complaint in the education directorate to apply the necessary punishment on the school.” The school should have notified the guardian if the dress was short and request the student to dress properly in front of teacher and visitors to the school.
