MoCI Cracks Down On Commercial And Retail Fraud
In a recent development, the Ministry of Trade and Industry has announced the apprehension of two store owners operating within the “Al-Fardha” fruit and vegetable market for engaging in commercial fraud activities. The stores were found guilty of altering the country of origin labels on their products and dividing large packages and boxes into smaller ones, deceiving consumers in the process.
The inspection teams, tasked with ensuring compliance with trade regulations, successfully identified and apprehended the violators during routine checks conducted at the market. Upon discovering the fraudulent practices, legal procedures were promptly initiated against the offending stores to hold them accountable for their actions.
Commercial fraud poses a significant threat to consumer rights and undermines the integrity of the market. By taking decisive action against such violations, authorities aim to uphold fair trade practices and protect consumers from deceptive practices.
The Ministry of Trade and Industry has reiterated its commitment to enforcing stringent regulations and cracking down on illegal activities
