Ministry Of Public Works Set To Complete Planning Of Projects
Ministry of Public Works is on the verge of completing the planning of many projects for the upgrade of the road networks at various locations across the country following the execution of the Jahra Highway and Jamal Abdulnasser Road projects based on a multi-level method.
According to the Assistant Undersecretary for Road Engineering Affairs Eng Ahmad Al-Hessen, the same method will be applied on Fahaheel Road by converting it into a multi-level road. The ministry has started designing many wide roads as part of the five-year plan. He explained that the design of the projects will be divided into three phases from the fi rst quarter of 2019.
The project will include upgrade of Fahaheel Road, which is about 36 kilometers long with minimum of five intersections. The phase one of the project entails study of the bridge extending from Al-Sour in Kuwait City to Ahmadi City. The second phase is about constructing part one of the bridges, which is 22 kilometers long from Ahmadi City to the Sixth Ring Road.
The third phase of the project will complete the bridge from Sixth Ring Road to Kuwait City, which is 16 kilometers long. Eng Al-Hessen affirmed that the roads will have several necessary services to ensure that they are in par with the current international standards and have the capacity of containing the increasing number of residents in the new cities.
