Ministry Of Awqaf Allows Iftar Banquets In Mosque Courtyards

The Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs issued a decision to allow Iftar banquets in the courtyards of mosques in accordance with the regulations. The organizer of the banquet must submit an official letter to the department in charge of managing mosques in each governorate to obtain approval after coordinating with the Imam of the mosque.

The decision also allows setting up tables for the banquet half an hour before the call for prayer and removal of the tables immediately after prayer.

It prohibits the establishment of Ramadan tents in the premises of mosques, in addition to the total ban on connecting the mosque’s electricity to the Ramadan tents close to the walls of the mosque in order to protect the health and ensure the safety of worshippers. It also clarified that these tents are not subject to the supervision of the ministry
