Mgrp Prepares New Proposal To Increase Employment Of Kuwaitis In Private Sector
The Manpower and Government Restructuring Program (MGRP) has prepared a new proposal on the employment of nationals in the private sector entitled, “Central Employment under Government and Development Project Contracts,” reports Al-Rai daily.
The program said it decided to send the document to the parliamentary Replacement and Employment Crisis Committee.
It explained that the proposal is a system for central employment of nationals under contracts signed by the government or any of its agencies, and the development projects. This means that employment is possible only through MGRP and the unified system whose mechanism and follow up have been adopted by the program.
The program stressed this will help increase the number of nationals employed in the private sector, while reducing the rate of unemployment and solving the problem of population imbalance since national manpower will replace expatriate workers. It added the proposal will provide job security for those employed under government contracts by finding alternative jobs for them.
Other notable advantages include guaranteeing fairness in employment due to the commitment to appoint applicants based on registration priority, specialization and academic qualifications.
