Mandoub In Human Trafficking
Officers from the General Department of Residency Affairs affiliated to the Citizenship and Passport Affairs Sector discovered a farm under which 200 employees are sponsored through manipulation and overestimation of the required manpower capacity.
In a press statement issued by Ministry of Interior, the General Department of Public Relations and Security Media of the ministry revealed that the concerned department received information about a farm owned by a Kuwaiti citizen who, through the farm, sponsored 200 expatriates. This prompted officers from the General Department of Residency Affairs to verify the information before taking legal measures in that regard. Investigations revealed that the actual manpower capacity estimated for the farm was only 115 employees. When the owner of the farm was summoned, he blamed the farm’s representative (mandoub).
The latter confessed to increasing the manpower capacity by presenting fake documents to the concerned authorities. The incident has been referred to the relevant authorities where necessary legal measures will be taken against the culprit(s).
