The Court of Appeals, headed by Judge Nasr Salem Al-Haid, sentenced an individual to three years in prison for committing State security crimes when he posted statements on a fake Twitter account as these statements are deemed offensive to the Amiri entity, and touched on the rights of HH the Amir and the integrity of the judiciary. The court affirmed the validity of the charges filed against the accused and declared him guilty. In addition, the court confirmed the innocence of Attorney Hani Hussein who has been accused of broadcasting false news, harming Kuwait’s interests and its relations with Saudi Arabia through media campaigns, and expressing contempt for a tribe when he posted statements on his personal Twitter account about the divided zone agreement between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
