Leave Without Pay For 'Acting Capacity' Employees
For the fiscal year 2023/2024, the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs has required those working under the "acting capacity" clause to take a full month's leave without pay. If not, it will consider them administratively furloughed “based on what the interest of the work requires” according to a decision issued by the ministry’s Undersecretary Bader Al-Mutairi, reports Al-Seyassah daily. In accordance with the decision, each concerned employee must submit a request for leave to his administrative authority during the time he wishes to take leave.
Leave can either be continuous or divided into two periods of no less than 15 days each. It will be automatically recorded if no application is submitted, and all departments must take into account the size of the workforce during those periods to ensure good conduct and regularity.
Groups enjoying summer and spring holidays in the relevant centers and registrars would be excluded from the above decision, with this circular being implemented and communicated to all sectors. The Assistant Undersecretary for Administrative and Financial Affairs and Chairman of the Central Committee for Assignment System Management Ibrahim Al-Khaza circulated a document regarding the leave of workers under the "acting capacity" item to the directors of the ministry's sectors and departments. A number of assignees failed to submit leave on the SAP system.
