Kuwaiti Workers Make Up 45 Percent Of Total Workforce And 84 Percent Of Them Are Employees In The Government Sector
All Kuwaiti workers don’t exceed 45 percent of the total workforce and 84 percent of them are employees in the government sector, Undersecretary of Ministry of State for Youth Affairs Sheikha Al-Zain Al-Sabah said. In a seminar organized by the Center for the Gulf Arabian Peninsula Studies at the Kuwait University on “empowering youth and their role in educating society”, Sheikha Al-Zain said that ambitions and needs of the Kuwaiti youth are greater than the realized achievements. She added that there should be national discussions on their issues through researches and studies, noting that the ministry makes up 72 percent of Kuwaiti people who are under 34 years old.
According to the aims of the ministry, it works on coordinating the national efforts through launching integrated strategies, policies, initiatives and programs to ensure the development and participation of youth in society, she made clear. She said the ministry has a number of partnerships with several government and private institutions and bodies as well as others, with the aim of serving youth and adopting their creative ideas and projects. The ministry, she stated, supported more than 225 initiatives in eight fields in 2014 and cooperated with the Kuwaiti University through the state’s training project to upgrade youth.
