Kuwait Ministry Of Information Launches Innovative ‘51’ Digital Media Platform
Saad Al-Azmi, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information for the Media Services Sector and New Media, and Chairman of the Coordination Committee for the Ministry’s Digital Media Platform, revealed details about the innovative '51' platform. This digital service, set to launch on May 12, offers a cutting-edge approach to broadcasting, transcending traditional models by delivering visual and audio content via radio waves to smart and digital devices worldwide.
In an interview with KUNA, Al-Azmi emphasized that the '51' platform aligns with modern media technologies, providing Kuwaiti families with a convenient option to access content through their preferred subscription-based service login credentials.
The launch date, May 12, holds significance as it marks the anniversary of Kuwaiti Radio's inception in 1951, hence the name '51' chosen to commemorate this milestone. The Ministry of Information, in collaboration with "Fast Communications" Company, aims to offer exclusive productions, live broadcast services of Kuwait TV channels in HD quality, radio stations, and video-on-demand (VOD) services through the platform.
Al-Azmi highlighted that the platform will adhere to regulatory frameworks set by the Ministry of Information, ensuring content compliance with Kuwaiti broadcasting standards. Viewers can anticipate access to a wide range of content, including films, series, sports leagues, and archived/new radio programs. Direct communication channels will enable viewer feedback, fostering interactive engagement between the Ministry of Information and its audience.
The initiative reflects the Ministry's commitment to staying abreast of technological advancements and meeting evolving audience preferences. Under the guidance of Minister of Information and Culture, Abdul Rahman Al-Mutairi, and Undersecretary Dr. Nasser Muhaisen, the platform aims to consolidate TV channels, radio stations, and electronic content under a unified digital platform.
Subscription options, including both free and paid tiers, will be available to users, with discussions underway with "Fast Communications" regarding service offerings. The selection process for content, encompassing sports periodicals, films, and series, will adhere to Ministry standards and regulations, ensuring a curated viewing experience for audiences.
