Kuwait Launches Manhunt For Convicted Terrorists

Kuwait's Ministry of Interior has launched a manhunt to arrest a number of indicted terrorists who went into hiding, according to Al Qabas newspaper.

It issued a statement today appealing to citizens and residents to help track down the convicts who were sentenced to jail in absentia and report any tip-off on hotline 112.

The fugitives were convicted of belonging to Al Ebdelli terror cell and spying for Iran and Lebanese Hezbollah militia.

The Court of Appeal recently re-instated the death sentence on one of the 26 defendants in the terrorist cell case known 'Al Ebdelli terrorist cell'.

The court also sentenced other defendants in the case from five to 15 years in jail.

The ministry warned that anyone convicted of harbouring or helping convicts would be jailed up to two years and/ or fined KD2,000.

The minisyty posted photos of 16 convicts to help the public identify them and alert the authorities.
