08 November 2022 Kuwait

According to Al-Qabas daily, the Sheikh Mubarak Al-Abdullah Al-Jaber Dialysis Center was established by the Ministry of Health in 2015 in order to alleviate the suffering of patients who were forced to go to distant dialysis centers. In a report to the daily, Dr. Nasser Al- Kandari said that 200 citizens in the country require kidney dialysis or transplantation annually, pointing out that the center saw 241 patients for hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis when it opened 7 years ago, and that number has doubled to 595.

As for peritoneal dialysis patients, Al-Kandari explained that when the center opened, 71 patients visited, and they have now doubled to 154 patients, making our dialysis center one of the largest in Kuwait, as well as among the largest in the Middle East.

In addition to dialysis services, Al- Kandari said the center receives between 50 and 70 patients daily in the outpatient clinics, which include general and specialized kidney clinics, as well as the one-day clinic, which provides services for administering medicines and intravenous solutions without entering the center or hospital.
