Kuwait Arrested 10,000 Persons In 7,000 Criminal Cases In 2020

The General Administration of Criminal Investigation managed to arrest about 10,000 accused residents and citizens during the past year 2020, in about 7,000 different cases, Al Qabas reported quoting security sources.

The sources told the daily that most of the cases registered were of various kinds of thrift, theft of vehicles, homes, and shops, and warned against storing valuable items and equipment openly inside the car.

Around 45 defendants were arrested in cases of appropriating public funds, in addition to the arrest of about 15 defendants for impersonating security men and committing several cases of robbery and fraud.

The sources clarified that among those arrested, about 50 accused are of different nationalities in cases of murder and attempted murder, in addition to about 120 accused in cases of armed robbery and robbery by force, and 90 defendants against whom criminal sentences were enforceable.

It indicated that 18 people were arrested for bribery, while the number of those arrested in cases of witchcraft and sorcery reached 13 from residents, and they were found in possession of acts of sorcery, while the rest were arrested in various other cases.
