Kpc Reveals Plans To Build Solar Power Plant

Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) announced plans on Sunday to build a power station fueled by solar energy, a project that fits into His Highness the Amir's vision of 15 percent solar energy consumption by the year 2030.

Sheikh Talal Al-Sabah, the company's official spokesman for the oil sector, said that KPC has agreed to build and operate a power plant that would run strictly on solar energy, read a statement issued by KPC.

Sheikh Talal noted that a meeting of the company's Board of Trustees tackled a host of issues, including KPC's intricate financial details as well as a number of key projects on the horizon.

He also pointed out that the company was eager to make its day-to-day operations more productive and efficient.
