Jahra's 12 Skin Clinics Face 80,000 Patient Visits Each Year
Dr. Muhammad Al-Otaibi, Head of Dermatology at Jahra Hospital, announced that the department sees about 80,000 patients each year through its 12 specialized clinics. There are three clinics for psoriasis patients, two hair and alopecia clinics, a contact dermatitis clinic, a hyperhidrosis clinic, two surgical clinics for diagnosing and removing benign skin tumors, and three laser clinics. The laser treatment unit, which includes three clinics, is equipped with many modern devices, such as skin pigmentation removal lasers, vascular lasers, and excimer lasers, according to a press release issued yesterday.
Additionally, the department performs cold cauterization, hot cauterization, skin scraping, and therapeutic skin injections. The hospital's dermatology department's annual report for 2023 confirmed that the department is a training center recognized by the Kuwait Institute for Medical Specialties for doctors certified by the Kuwait Board of Dermatology and Kuwait Board of Family Medicine. Additionally, it hosts many scientific conferences and awareness events such as World Psoriasis Day, World Vitiligo Day, and Eczema Day. Dr. Al-Otaibi affirmed that the department serves all citizens and residents of the Jahra Governorate, regardless of gender or age, and that it offers its services to children and adults alike. The dermatology clinic at the Jahra Health Center receives new patients through referrals and/or electronic appointments with their clinics. He said repeated cases are received through a prior appointment at the clinic, where the patient is followed up in accordance with the case, and emergency cases are seen the same day.
